01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Crepes cooked to order right on the hot plate are the house specialty and an ideal starting point at Horn. The popular staple is the citron, assembled simply with Calpis butter, granulated sugar, and fresh lemon squeezed over the crepe as it finishes cooking. The edges crisp up into a fragrant golden fringe, while the center yields into a moist, chewy pancake bathed in melting butter and vibrant citrus tang. For a contrast between warm pastry and chilled sweetness, vanilla ice cream can also be added.

The glass showcase at the counter displays an equally compelling array of cakes and baked goods. The Earl Grey mousse is meticulously composed, layering fragrant tea mousse with unsweetened tea-infused whipped cream over a sponge base accented with nuts and citrus. The pastry selection also includes crisp, flaky mille-feuille, seasonal fruit shortcakes, and deeply caramelized Basque cheesecake, offering plenty of choices among fresh pâtisserie and baked treats.

While everything is available to take away, guests looking to linger can head down the stairs to the basement cafe. Bathed in soft indirect lighting with classical music playing in the background, the room features an ornamental horn nodding to the shop’s name, lending the space a quiet, speakeasy-like seclusion. Paired with a rich caffe latte or hot tea, it makes an inviting spot for a relaxed brunch or an afternoon sweet treat.
